Intelligent Alternative

Intelligent Alternative was established in 2006 to support artists, and to develop and fund art projects, primarily those focused on cross-cultural and inter-disciplinary exchange between China and the outside world. Since its launch, IA has supported artists to work with designers, to make films, to hold debut exhibitions, and to publish their work. IA has also funded projects that have allowed Chinese artists to show their work outside China, and to produce specific commissions. IA has a special interest in multi-disciplinary and experimental forms of art.

IA also supports research programmes, internships and residencies for foreign students seeking to further their knowledge of Chinese contemporary art and culture in China.

bolwerK

bolwerK is a non-exclusive, temporary constellation that has initiated, curated, mediated and facilitated diverse projects locally and internationally since 1998. Her open network is the basis for collaboration and the triggering of internal and external group dynamics around relevant social issues. bolwerK considers art the ideal context for producing thought and reflection upon society. Art creates a meta-layer, a framing of perception in which social, economic and political issues, norms, and values can be questioned.
